Java Backend microservices Engineer II, under general supervision, is responsible for designing, building, maintaining, and deploying high specification technologies that powers the backend components (such as database and server) of java microservices applications. Develop java applications using microservices architecture. Reviews code, improves the server, and maintains databases to be connected with front-end codes to help create a serviceable, one-piece experience for the end-user. Takes part in software and application development activities. Conducts software programming, analysis, testing, and debugging. Identifies and solves production and non-production application issues. Able to develop, and test software products and recommend modifications to enhance quality in established java application processes. Recommend and develop technical designs for application development. Collect and analyze data that aid decision making processes. Troubleshoots issues and identifies areas for development. Work in collaboration with the front-end engineers and other team members to materialize objectives and design more cohesive and functional codes to enhance end-user experience. Occasionally come up with helpful ideas for new Java software products, programs, or features by monitoring industry advancements and trends. Write application codes for java programs. Performs coding, testing debugging, and troubleshooting all-round the application development process. Java Backend microservices Engineer II may direct a few lower level engineers and guide their day-to-day activities. May have a Bachelor’s degree in computer programming, computer engineering, or any other related field. Have 5-7 years of experience working as a Java engineer, or in any related roles. Possess the ability to initiate actions needed to attain desired results via communications with customers, design engineers, and end-users. Experienced developing applications using a popular general-purpose programming language, such as Scala. Experienced working with web Frameworks like Wicket, JSF, and Spring. Experienced developing SOA style components with server-side development. Has strong experience with GNU/Linux system. Experienced using Unit testing frameworks for Test Driven Development (TDD) methodology to ensure quality assurance.
