Principle Microservices Engineer II is responsible for leading and assisting the staff engineers in designing, building, and developing high-quality microservices applications. Ensure the quality, performance, responsiveness, and reliability of the applications. Carry out code reviews, automated unit testing, and documentation for new and existing codes. Capable of dealing with ambiguities in project requirements and work in a fast-evolving environment, executing time-sensitive projects. Plans software projects to meet deadlines while maintaining code quality. Work in an environment of agile, test-driven quick feedback cycle (continuous integration, functional, integration, and acceptance testing). Possesses the ability to master and use new technologies. Constantly come up with new ideas and technologies for the team to improve the process or product. Assist in scaling and troubleshooting complex microservice-based applications and cloud infrastructure. Work collaboratively with microservices architectures and developers to contribute to project feasibility, and meet requirements. Proficient in computer programming (HTML, Perl, PHP, JavaScript, XML) and database programming (SQL, MySQL, CGI). Creates work effort estimations for allocated tasks, sets deadline and support prioritization and release management. Uses established change management processes to implement change in operational procedures with minimal customer service impact. Works with database administrators to configure, tune, and maintain databases in a variety of languages. Documents systems upgrades and configurations. Designs disaster recovery plans and implements change control policies. Holds a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or any other related field, with 5-7 years of experience working as a microservices engineer. Has excellent written and verbal communication skills and experienced in writing technical documentation to be referenced by technical peers in a knowledge base. Experienced in programming languages and other similar configuration management tools. Possesses solid understanding of Microservices and SOA architecture. Has working experience in Unix / Linux Administration and AWS Automation & Administration. Strong knowledge of Database Development & Support.
